About MHE Onsite Training

MHE Onsite Training is operated by Brian Egerton, a sole trader based in Sleaford, South Lincolnshire. By booking a course or confirming a date by email, you agree to be bound by these Terms. This is a business-to-business service for logistics and manufacturing businesses.

Our Services

We provide onsite forklift operator training (Material Handling Equipment / MHE) delivered at your premises using your own equipment, in line with HSE Approved Code of Practice L117. Courses include Novice Operator, Conversion, Refresher, and Re-assessment training.

Training is delivered by an RTITB Certified Instructor. Our standard service area is South Lincolnshire and surrounding regions; bookings outside this area may carry an additional travel charge.

Certification & Accreditation — Important

Our instructor holds RTITB Certified Instructor status, which satisfies the HSE requirement for training to be delivered by a competent person.

However, the business itself is not currently RTITB Accredited. This means:

• Courses are not uploaded to NORS (National Operator Registration Scheme)
• Certificates issued are site-specific, valid for your internal audit and risk assessment but not automatically transferable to another employer
• We will never describe our service as "RTITB accredited" — we don't hold that status
• If you require nationally transferable RTITB certification, please tell us before booking so we can advise on your options

What this means for your candidates: If a trained candidate later moves to work for another employer, they will need a new assessment with us or another trainer to prove competence to their new employer. We can provide a "Certificate of Attendance" showing they completed our training, but the qualification itself remains site-specific to ensure safety compliance. For nationally recognised RTITB certification, the candidate or new employer would need to book with an RTITB-accredited provider.

Bookings & Confirmation

A booking is only confirmed once we've agreed the date, course type, candidate numbers, and site location, and any required deposit has been received.

Fees & Payment

Indicative Pricing:

• Novice Operator (3-day course): From £750
• Conversion Course (1–2 day): From £250
• Refresher Course (1-day): From £200

These are guide prices only. Your exact rate will be confirmed in writing before booking — contact us for a tailored quote.

A non-refundable deposit of 25% of the total course price is required to confirm your booking. The balance is due within 7 days of the invoice date. We accept payment by bank transfer.

If the balance is not received within 7 days of the invoice date, we reserve the right to charge interest at 8% per annum (or the legal rate if higher) on the outstanding amount and may cancel the booking without further notice.

Cancellation & Rescheduling

• 48 hours' notice or more: You may cancel or reschedule free of additional charge. Your deposit remains non-refundable but can usually be applied to a rebooked date within 3 months.
• Less than 48 hours' notice or a no-show: The full course fee becomes payable.
• We reserve the right to reschedule in exceptional circumstances (instructor illness, extreme weather) with maximum notice to you; no charge applies in such cases.

Your Responsibilities

Before we arrive on site, you must confirm:

• Any forklift used for training holds a current, valid LOLER (Lifting Operations & Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998) thorough examination certificate
• A safe, segregated area is available for practical training, away from other traffic and hazards
• Candidates are physically fit to operate the equipment
• A suitable indoor space is available for theory elements

If machinery does not hold a valid LOLER certificate or the site is unsafe on the day, we reserve the right to decline to start training, and the full course fee remains payable.

Health & Safety

You remain responsible for overall site health and safety management. Our instructor follows safe systems of work and has the right to pause or stop training if they consider continuing would be unsafe.

Insurance & Liability

We hold £5 million Public Liability Insurance and Professional Indemnity Insurance. Current certificates are available on request.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death, personal injury caused by our negligence, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, our total liability for any single booking is limited to the fees paid for that booking.

Data Protection

We are registered with the ICO. Assessment records and digital certificates are retained securely for a minimum of 6 years to support your audit and liability requirements. We process personal data in line with UK GDPR — see our Privacy Policy for details.

Training Materials

All training materials, assessments, and certificates remain our intellectual property and are provided for your internal use only. They may not be reproduced or resold without our written permission.

Complaints

If anything falls short of your expectations, please contact us within 14 days of the training date so we can resolve it directly: info@mheonsitetraining.co.uk

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by English law, and any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
